Glazed Christmas Ham

1 ham - smoked
cloves (whole)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp pineapple juice
wholegrain mustard
pineapple (canned rings)
lemon slices



  1. preheat the oven to 160C
  2. take the skin off the ham leaving as much fat on the ham as possible
  3. score the ham in a diamond pattern
  4. stick cloves into the centre of each diamond
  5. mix all other ingedients together to form a glaze - paint liberally over ham
  6. wrap ham in foil and place ham on baking rack in lined baking tray
  7. bake approximately 20 minutes, remove foil and glaze again and rotate in oven
  8. bake another 20 minutes, glaze again and decorate with pineapple and lemon slices
  9. turn the oven up to 180C and return ham to oven another 10 minutes or so or until golden
  10. rest ham covered about 10 minutes before serving
  11. when serving cut against the bone


mix as much or as little of each ingredient as you think will be tasty - if you don't like one, leave it out

marmalade, orange juice and slices, apple and other fruits also taste pretty good
