Equipment
Method
- Oven to 180C
- chop dates and remove any left over seeds
- put dates and apple in a bowl, just cover with boiling water and sprinkle bi carb over. Stir through and leave to stand
- cream butter and sugar
- add eggs and stir until completely combined
- sift over flour and baking powder and stir to combine
- add date mixture and stir through
- grease cake tin and line base with baking paper
- pour in mixture and bake in oven approximately 50 minutes, check after 40
- cool in pan
- turn out and serve with custard and or ice cream
