Ingredients

4	granny smith apples
50-100 g	dried pitted dates
1 tsp	lemon zest (about 1/2 lemon)
2 tbsp	brown sugar + more to top
20 g	butter
	toffee sauce to serve
	ice cream to serve

Equipment

• oven

Method

1. preheat oven to 180C
2. wash and core apples
3. chop dates and mix with lemon zest and sugar
4. stuff date mix into apples
5. put apples in a baking dish with 1/2 cup of water
6. top each apple with a little butter and more sugar
7. bake approximately 30 minutes
8. serve hot with toffee sauce and ice cream
