Ingredients
| 80 g |
butter |
| 4 tbsp |
plain flour |
| 500 mL |
milk |
| 150 g |
grated cheese (tasty, cheddar etc) |
| 1/2 tsp |
nutmeg (ground) |
Method
- melt butter in saucepan on low heat
- remove from heat and gradually work in flour until smooth
- return to heat and stir continously to cook flour
- remove from heat and gradually stir in milk
- return to heat and bring to almost boiling continously stirring - do not boil
- remove from heat and stir in grated cheese until melted
- season with nutmeg
